Join the new subscriber chat
A private space to converse and connect
Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to our publication: the Weehawken Gazette subscriber chat. I’d been thinking of doing it, and then I saw a cool local job opening that couldn’t wait for the next issue — so I’m plunging in. More on what the chat is, and how to join it, after this pretty picture…
This is a conversation space exclusively for subscribers—kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post questions and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion, or not. Only thing: right now all subscribers can join, no paywall. However only paid subscribers can start new threads. We’ll see how it goes! As we’ve never done this, terms of this feature are subject to change. The Weehawken Gazette will stay free, but the chat might become a paid-only feature in future.
I’m hoping the chat is helpful and that the vibe is neighbors helping neighbors.
So come on in!
Need more info? Here’s how to get started:
Get the Substack app by clicking this link or the button below. New chat threads won’t be sent sent via email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. But don’t worry, you can also access chat on the web.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
I can’t promise I’ll be super active on it. I have a job or 10, and so posting might be spotty. But we’ll see!
That’s it! Jump into the thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
